Growing a Farmer – by Kurt Timmermeister

I just finished reading a book that makes me feel like I can start a farm with little experience and not completely fail. My inspiration?

Growing A Farmer, by Kurt Timmermeister, published 2011 W.W. Norton & Company, Inc.

Mr. Timmermeister writes in first person, but what I find so refreshing is he’s pretty clear that he had no idea what he was doing when he bought his farm. ¬†Although his story is different than mine (of course), his path on getting to farming is pretty similar. We also seem to share a lot of the same goals in terms of creating food that is healthy, fresh, local and minimally impactful of the environment. I found his writing refreshing, and often times inspiring. It almost makes me want to go out and buy a cow.
